Not to Me
(by Rebecca)

When you made me bend over
Face down on the bed
And hold the position
While you used the red paddle
Or the oak switch
Or the board

When repeatedly the sound
Of my flesh being struck filled the room
And my silence was cause for more blows
And my cries of pain were seen
As signs of submission
That cleansed my soul

When you made me hold you close
And say I was sorry for the wrong I had done
While inside I seethed at the injustice
My spirit revolted at the lack of mercy
My mind tried and failed to know
How this was for my own good

When each day that this continued
Was a day that you rejoiced
In your self-righteous pleasure
Of following God
You did not do this to me.

(You did it to Jesus.)

And the King will tell them, `I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'
Matthew 25:40
